  • この世代になると、主砲の発射方式がレールガン方式になると聞いたけど、船体を黒塗りにすれば、更にかっこよくなりそうだね。

  • Only a 130mm bofors gun

  • Airline wings are designed to flex. in fact in the case of the 777 made to flex up to 26 feet from their resting position before failing. Rigidity is a no no for aircraft wings, rigid things tend to snap rather than bend. But aluminium can be engineered to be as rigid as you need it.

  • Question. What are airplanes made of? Aluminum. Ever looked out the window and watched how much the wing moves?

    Alot.

  • Actually, that price really ain't bad for a prototype ship. The price will go down but it takes at about half a billion to build a ship anyway. That's just for a Arleigh-Burke Class 'smallboy' destroyer. A quote on an amphibious ship is between 1-2 billion An aircraft carrier will make your head explode lol. An easy 9 billion not including R&D. O.M.G.!

  • Costs are always high initially to justify the Research and Development of the contractor. Same kinda shit goes on with pharmaceuticals. Im sure ur right, the costs per unit will fall dramatically especially when the contractor realizes they have a guarantee of the purchaser.

  • Yes costs where very high.. But that was initially, Give it time and you will see costs drop dramatically. In any case its not the building that's gone over budget, But largely the outfitting.

  • 1.3 BILLION to build 2 of these? F,n ridiculous !!

  • 2.16...hmm,the crew needs to have fun also.Gief a referee too:P

  • i agree, however wings are replaceable. A hull isn't. Its that simple.

  • Specifically the USS Belknap and the HMS Sheffield.

  • The reason we haven't used aluminum in ship construction in a while is because of it's relatively low melting point. There have been a few ship fires where the steel hull was all that really remained. The entire aluminum superstructure melted.

  • May God bless America and the NAVY...

  • Man, a ship like that making those sharp turns! That's amazing by itself!
