Virtual Star Party for Jan. 31st, 2012. This was our best hangout yet, with 4 telescopes streaming into the Hangout at the same time. Over the course of the evening, we looked at more than a dozen objects, including the Moon, Saturn, Mars, Jupiter, Orion Nebula, Andromeda Galaxy, Horsehead Nebula, and more! We were joined by Phil Plait and Pamela Gay for color commentary.

  • Positive vibes from this video. It's cozy!

  • great to see --will be embedding it!!

  • "Gooder," "biggened it." :DDD

  • @Makrozon You can see Uranus and Neptune from Earth. They'll mostly look like small colored stars with no detail, but you can see them. Mars is hard to get a good view with a small telescope due to being quite small even though it's closest to us (compared to Jupiter and Saturn).

  • Wow, if Mars is so blurry than I guess it's almost impossible to see any planet beyond Saturn.

  • Track the ISS!! Someone do it!! :)

  • Thank you so much for this occasions! It's a huge pleasure to watch this objects, and listening to your comments about them really makes it feel like friends meeting! and it's wonderful!
