PIO Walk simulator device for stimulating proper walking movements in upright position.
A device for patients with certain motor disabilities which allows to synchronize their movements to achieve coordination while in the upright position.
Keeps the patient stabilised during the therapy while the patient works out the upper limbs. Promotes movements simulating natural gait.
The PIO apparatus helps keep the patient in the correct position and provides necessary weight bearing important for the hips, knees and tarsal joints while working passively.
Advantages of using PIO:
-promotes upright position
-increases breath capacity
-stimulates circulatory system
-prevents urinary system infections (helps to remove sediments in urinary tract)
-provides dynamic load to osteoarticular system (e.g. lessens the risk of ostheoporosis)
-prevents muscle contracture and arthrosis
This device was developed by a man who used it in a successful therapy of his disability.
