I tried, and it sounds like shit. Equipment is crap. If I record a narration afterwards, the mic that I have on the camera pics up all kinds of distortion. Cheap mics suck.

No offense dude, but seriously check out the amount of views you have had on your vidz and then check out someone like tace105, danwei, or brusieseabass. If that aint telling you your doing something wrong then I don't know what will.Why don't you take some tips from them guys.Peace!

Well, I appreciate the comment. But here is the difference... I don't have any proper equipment, no microphone, I dont have any help, and I don't even have a video camera - I'm shooting video with my digicam. That limits me and Derek quite a bit. Send money, I will buy a nice cam with all the gadgets! :-)

It's a cold, rainy, winter's day and I'm just chilling watching this stuff. Haha. Totally surprised at how many people are complaining, you guys should just be happy that you can see this stuff.

I sound like an ass-kisser right now, but I AM grateful that you have so many videos and hours of footage put up on your channel. It's a great way to just sit back and relax, kill some time, you know? (Sorry for commenting on old vids too, you're probably sick of that.)

he is right, narrative in terms of certain film/tv language such as voice over, sound-image syn, parallel montage etc.

and, there r too much u hold camera shooting u walking around or complaining about tickets and similar stuff appears in every vidz. such thing happened just once in ur video, is enough.

u living in China, u should have better understanding of "no give up, no gain" instead of "no pain no gain"

so, to draw a conclusion, editing editing editing.

but if u do care, then my personal suggestion what u should do is to refine ur videos, reduce them to for example 3 x 3 minutes sections version. cause the length and rhythm of ur videos is pretty much conventional tv style,

narrative is not key problem,randomness is ur score point actually.

put in this way, there r loads of golden moments in ur series, yet 9 x 4 or even more means ppl just don't know where these nuggets r, and thus dont bother to check it out.

actually ur videos r most entertaining, deepthought, fanky grassroot humor, undersanding of chinese culture etc among these video makers, for the viewers with good patience. it's not about equipments or whatever, its about editing and rhythm. if u don't care about view amounts and make these videos just for ur keep ur own experience and memories fresh, keep going on with this style.
