Gunung Rinjani Ascent (Aug 2010)

Five colleagues and I climbed Mt Rinjani (3726m). Team muvee made it to the top after a 3 day trek.

The final 1000m to the top... how was it? I heard it was an arduous task climbing up the scree. Your comment please. Am going to trek Rinjani in April 2012. Thanks for the video.  Nice but rather short.

@Franliu100 I would say the final 400m is tough and scary. If I hadn't been with a group of fellow climbers, I would most certainly have given up. At one point, even one of our younger Indonesian guides wanted to give up because of the cold and fatigue. But whatever happens, keep going up and don't give up. I'll tell you what Pete, the main organizer told me: "You will only stop going up when there's no more 'up' to go to, aka the summit!". :)

@Franliu100 One more thing, yea the scree is a real pain. For every 3 steps you'll take, you'll be sliding 2 steps down. This part is a real bummer. And the thin air won't make things any easier. But that's what makes Rinjani a challenging climb. I'm glad you liked the video. :)

I went up there in August 2010. The last bit from camp to summit was hell, I almost abandoned it. But wow the view from the top made me so glad I did it!

Yes ,We did it 20 years ago ,can't forget it,way down was painfull, but glad we did it ,nice thing to do .
