I always thought saleens were fast until last friday night when a buddy and I did maybe 6-9 pulls. we did maybe 3 from a dig, and the rest were 2nd and 3rd gear rolls and every time my car destroyed his I couldn't believe it. I am waiting for them to upload the videos. My car: 2001.5 Audi S4 Apr tuned hits 17psi holds 15psi, gutted downpipes and no secondary cats all on stock exhaust just no catalyst that is all my car has done to it (stock turbos)... (total price for my mods on a 10Y/O SDN 500$

@trace1144 absolutely you need more than K04s for 600hp. I never said you could have 600 with K04s. You can with twin TiAL 770's or twin GT28's though. I said you could have 600-1200 with a single turbo. Guys that run 9 second 1/4's on s4's do it with a single bigass turbo. You get more lag, but a WAY bigger top end. Look it up.

The S4 has a stock motor and no stroker kit. Stage 3 S4 only means exhaust, tune, fueling, and the turbos from the RS4. The stang has a s/c and exhaust tune etc. What more do you want? Then you say run it against a stang with a single turbo? Ok, let's run a 4.6L single turbo stang, but let's also give the 2.7L S4 a single turbo as well- which equals at least 600 awhp, as much as 1200awhp. You see where I am going? S4>Mustang. Period.

i smoked a saleen b4... my S4 is only CHIPPED and downpipe exhaust... I'm running 339awhp on mine with 361wtq @ 2000rpm... killed the saleen since the moment we say go. My friend owns a saleen!! He admitted that he lost if we're talking about stock motor vs stock motor

a 2.7 with AWD - and this model here is not just a 2.7L it  has a stroker kit making alot more. congrads. if it was STOCK Vs STock Saleen would of smacked it badly.

Saleen if infact it was a Saleen s281 supercharged .

Then it was re-built from the grounds up all the way down to the bare frame itself.

But there is still a lot that could be done too there motor, for the saleen supercharged s281. in that year.

i know the s4 is AWD....it actually causes you to loose more power from the crank to the wheels. its about 8% more power loss....so the awd would only help from a dig. the pistons would only make substantial difference if he lowered his compression ratio to run higher boost.

its an APR stage 3 man. It's just stronger turbos with upgraded fueling. The engine (2.7biturbo V6), that all stays the same. Getting the engine bored for this car is a waste, because the gains are nominal.

Agreed though, much more could be done to the mustang. But ... it's mustang. Each to their own.

And the S4 is also AWD, With a Stage three built motor. so it's been bored out so its prolly not just a 2.7L anymore anyways. and its built / tuned to race... Saleen never bored out the motor ect ect ect... so much more could be done to the saleen's engine.

and Vr6's are nice which one Coupe or sedan?

and a 2007 GT mustang is alot heavier compared to older version's if it was an older one say 99-2004 you would of been walked. Notice I did'nt say raped but would of been walked. because vR6's are very fast cars. and luxury too. well the sedan version.

I doubt it. The main problem with american cars is that they build alot of hp but how much of it goes to the wheels. Thats why when an audi is rated 300hp. its actually 300whp. So I had a jetta vr6 which is what about 200hp? just about. And a 2007 Mustang GT couldnt pull away...... they are suppost to be 300 and something hp right? doesnt make sense.

Its a 4.2L vs a 4.6L once Turbo any forced induction on an open highway spiecally with turbos*** That 4.6L would Rip that Audi a new asshole. and I love absouluty love audi but no replacement for displacement. you can always make a car lighter and the engine.
