the fluid in the tube is what cause the compression. when heat is applied the fluid expand in term it cause reaction and compression.

But...We are desesperatly waiting for your first real "fluydine" whitout any "ringbom" displacer!
Making this kind of striling working with a standard heat source would be a real Graal!
