Vitamix is generally pretty good about repairs, and as lancifer77 said, their built like tanks. Look into a reputable repair shop locally, or call the manufacturer.

Hey had the same problem...It was the potentiometer (the variable speed switch).
7 yr warranty fixed for free.

Even if it isn't under warranty, you could still get it fixed. You might just have to pay extra though.

If you're not under warranty...take it apart and re-solder the connections. Seriously, these things are build like M1 tanks!
