How much is the whole advance? Maybe 32-34 degrees at over 3000 rpm?? It sounds so strong there, Thanks!!

@Franko94 Hi Frank, that makes perfect sense to me. I am new at working on the air cooled engines, or any engine for that matter, but I found a new hobby I really love.

@thisux7x7 U need to set the timing with the engine at a certain speed. he most likely had a tach rite there on his light, and he was holding the engine at the appropriate rpms.

I'm not certain if you should be timing it when it's not idling by itself. Manipulating the idle with one hand and setting the dwell will probably be inaccurate. But I may be wrong also...
