help! my ze5615sr only runs off AC power with the charger plugged in, shuts off if removed. the battery is still good! could it just be something that could be soldered? this laptop has been a doorstop for a few years. but still a great xp based web browser.

@FastVideoTech does the new DC Jack/USB Power board for the DV6000 need to be soldered to the mother board? Or is it OK just to install and run as is? I only ask because my brother does small repairs and can take apart my laptop and install the new power jack, but I am not sure if he can solder it. Thank you!

@ervinta how do you know which one you need?
Does anyone know what tool was used at 2:34? Thanks

@Joonam9 I do believe that is a 5mm socket. Thanks for watching!

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't see you working with a ground or any other anti-static accessories. Do I need an anti-static bag to put my HD in? Do I need a anti-static mat? Again, thanks.

@choppedpeanuts1 My Feet are grounded although in my later videos you will see an anti-static wrist strap on my right arm -it may not be completely necessary. The hard drive is in an enclosure so you may not need to worry about it during the repair process. An anti-static bag will not hurt though. Every work environment is different so take whatever measures you need to ensure the static sensitive devices are protected. Good luck!

I have a DV6365. Would a DC Jack/USB Power Board for a DV6300 fit mine? Thanks.

@choppedpeanuts1 I would check the HP part number to be sure.
