This is the wonderful tribute that Charlie Cushman did for the legendary banjo picker, Allen Shelton on 11/21/09. Charlie wanted the crowd to make sure to remember Allen in our thoughts and prayers as he had been released from the hospital this week, after a lengthy hospital stay. This morning it was announced on the Bluegrass Blog that Allen Shelton had passed away sometime yesterday. I remember this amazing song of Allen's from hearing my grandfather play it growing up. I believe Charlie did a bang-up job of a tribute and I know I will always remember that we all took a moment to send prayers and positive thoughts to Allen never dreaming we would hear the news today. Please remember Allen's family in your prayers....
Left to right- Jimmy Stewart (dobro), Charlie Cushman (banjo), Shawn Camp (guitar), Mike Bub (bass), Chris Henry (mandolin).
***Update: January 7, 2010! Charlie will be playing on Thursday, January 21st at the world-famous Station Inn in Nashville! If you are going to be in the area, make sure to stop by. It'll be Charlie and Friends...you never know who might show up!*****
Remember Jimmy Stewart when he used to do the day gig at Shepherd of the Hills in Branson many years ago. Glad to see he's still pickin'.

Charlie - nice "walk-up" around 1:35 or so! Way to go fella! Cool chimes on the mandolin, also.
