  • @Senvae I would re-buy their old albums again if they redid it all with a live orchestra, this is the kind of music that is worth every penny.

  • People at 3:03 can't clap on beat

very annoying in an otherwise amazing song

  • i think the worst part is from 3:10 to the 3:27...really her voice isn't so good on those tones...and again on the 3:57 to the 4:12

  • I find it hard to be too critic of Mark's growling... He's such an important part of the band (both in terms of playing and composition), and like it or not, his growling was part of what shaped Epica into what it is today.

I'll say that he's far from being my favorite growler, he certainly isn't the next Mikael Stanne, but I don't know... I don't mind him so much. It's part of the band's music since the beginning, and I like the band's music so I wouldn't have it any other way.

  • @TheEarthforge Show them Mainstay of Society by Mayan, that is Mark singing and see what your sibling has to say.

  • I feel like there are too many death metal elements in Epica to call it Gothic metal. Many other Gothic metal bands are waaaay softer. Epica is more with Nightwish, which is symphonic metal.

I know Mark isn't the best growler, but he's my favorite because he was the first one I listened to and actually was okay with. It drives my sib (big black metal fan) bonkers that I listen to a "cruddy" growler.

  • this is awesome, and don't give a fuck about all those people that like to put metal in to boxes. music are best without boundries. Let the music speaks for it self, if noone breaks the boxes there wouldn't be any metal at all.

  • @creativenick1 Alright. :)

  • @Jamiebaker15 fair enough :)

  • @creativenick1 Whoa, whoa, whoa, please don't bite my head off. I don't care what genre it is all I know is that I love Epica and I love this song so let's just enjoy it shall we?

  • @Jamiebaker15 death metal obviously, but show me one example of black. It's different ideology, don't you get it? I really hate it that this is gonna once again look that it's so important what genres are. THEY ARE NOT, BUT BLACK METAL IS THE VERY OWN THING AND SHOULDN'T MIXED IT WITH EPICA. end of discussion.

  • @creativenick1 They do have some black and a lot of death metal elements in their music though.
