Ascolta by Ludovico Einaudi appears on his 2007 cd Divenire.
I've been listening to this album a lot lately and never considered playing a lot of them as without the accompaniment the solo piano arrangements can seem a little incomplete. So I figured this was a good opportunity learn more about music production in Logic in which all the elements were recorded and mixed.

  • It takes an extraordinary mind to come up with a piece of music like this one, it is so deep it's beyond our understanding.

  • @sabernow

I couldn't agree more. Einaudi is one of the masters of creating such beauty out of the minimum amount of notes. There is no extra fuss or clutter there, what remains sounds so clean and clear.

  • hey, how did you do this? are the non-piano effects yours?

this is on my to do list, but i'll be doing a much "barer" version--just piano

  • @Runnerduck16

Yep, it's all mine, I use Logic to record all the elements and then mix them together :)

  • I'm sure Einaudi was very much inspired by Phil Collins' In the air tonight with this backing track - it's amazing! I play myself and I have to say, you make this look like a hand / finger exercise. Perfect soul & timing, great job (I bet you had your eyes closed for most of it!)

  • @1bobo1 Brilliant! Jogging to Einaudi! I will have to give it a go. I must admit though, I do prefer a nice toke, a great set of headphones, with a blanket and a family size packet of crisps.

  • Perfection
