This video pairs a statement made by Progressive Conservative MPP, Ernie Hardeman "I recognize that the President of AMO, on behalf of all the member-municipalities of AMO was making a presentation and suggested that he would never nor would any municipality do anything that would be contrary to the best interests of the people who were being impacted by their decisions" with revelations by Fort Erie Council that AMO denied the Ontario Ombudsman permission to address AMO delegates at the 2007 AMO Conference and give municipalities the information they needed to make an informed decision on Bill 130.

Of course, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario didn't want their delegates to appoint the Ontario Ombudsman for investigator of closed-door meetings because AMO's subsidiary corporation, Local Authority Service, was in the business of providing "investigators" to municipalities to create the appearance of something "arm's length" and independent!

Has your municipality denied you a free, impartial investigation of closed door meetings by the Ontario Ombudsman? Then your village, town, city has something to hide!

And you might consider checking into what extent of maladministration your local mayor and councillors are attempting to cover up!


Both Fort Erie and the Region of Niagara Council voted to appoint the Ontario Ombudsman as investigator for closed-door meetings.

Most Ontario municipalities chose to duck the Ombudsman and hire their own "investigators" therefore denying their citizens a free, impartial investigation by the Ontario Ombudsman.
