Dr. Kurtzberg pioneered and continues to advance the use of banked umbilical cord blood as a source of stem cells for marrow transplantation in children. Under her leadership, Duke established the internationally known Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program (PBMT) and currently treats children with cancer, blood disorders, immune deficiencies and metabolic disorders. It is the largest dedicated pediatric transplant program in the world.

  • I have a 3 year old son that has PCI, I am willing to submit to treatment with stem cells to help my child is able to recover some of their functions at least basic care for himself if possible. I appreciate if you can find out if any will be treatment patients and would have to do to participate.

  • OH HOW I LOVE HER! Could listen to Our Mother Of Transplants talk all day every day.
