Absolutely brilliant. Great directing from Shane Meadows, great acting from the whole cast. Joe Gilgun is a beast of an actor (the scene where Woody stumbles upon the gang almost made me cry).

@idontsufferofmadness Funny that, I first saw Joseph Gilgun cast as Rudy and then discovered 'This Is England". I really can't say if he's better as Rudy or Woody. He's just a brilliant actor

Just finished watching This is England '88 and wow this is just mental trippingly awesome!
Props to Shane Meadows, you are just brilliant!

very good drama. Funny, yet harrowing. although there wasn't a lot to laugh about in this one. there were some Laugh out loud moments.
Smell walking in on Shaun and his Jam tart. and smacking the hell out of them. LOL
Woody thinking that Lol was dead. and her mum saying. "She's not dead you idot, she's down stairs having a fucking smoke!"
and Woody's downward spiral into Charades and polite dinner get togethers.
