This is a GREAT idea. I never thought to use nail polish but that makes sense considering that would absolutely make it shine! I have just a few questions for you though:

1. Why did you choose white as the base coat?

2. Does it matter if you use a base coat or not?

3. Have they chipped yet lol? Do they chip after one wear?

@Jesmaca3 Its the same concept of a base on the eyes makes the red more vibrant and true in color. I only wore them in a photoshoot, so Im not too sure of the lasting power of the paint

Say what you want but at the end of the day there would be no need to paint shoes red at the bottom if one was not trying to convey the false image that they were of a financial bracket that can afford those kind of shoes. If this is what a woman needs to boost her self-confidence or should I say lack thereof then lord help her because material items will not give her the fulfillment she is so desperately looking for.

pssst they have DIY red soles online; almost like a red film/contact film you put onto the bottom of the shoe. So no need to do 3 coats of polishing with a small brush :)

Hey I just read this months Instyle January 2012... And Christian Luoboutin admitted his first prototypes had red nail polished bottom because the black sole was overbearing. He used his assistants red nail polish.it's on page 65... Bam

Some people will wear some fugly ish just because it has a designers name on it. Begging to be seen as well off. Red bottom heels is a look, same as bags with metal spikes on the bottom or on the entire shoe. It is a look, a concept. Watch in future, you'll walk into a quality high street shoe store, see a hot pair of shoes, ON SALE flip it over and see a red bottom! You telling me you won't buy it? Fools!

I don't understand people. If AE painted the bottom of some kicks red would they be talking about imitation. She painted HER heels red not yours and she sure isn't trying to sell them to you or make money off you like Christian, so what does it matter. Just make sure the designer stuff that you have moved up to is real. Worry bout your own self.
