We Filipinos don't need to copy, as each of our respective arts evolved differently, we had fought different adversaries in our region, therefore Filipino arts were focused on different situations compared to the Chinese arts who also had their distinct moves focused on the situations they encountered in the battlefield; If there are similarities between different Asian arts, that is because Asian kingdoms/countries have traded with each other even before the west meddled with the Asian region.

@cfG21 In my post I said that Bruce's footwork was influenced by Chacha in a way, with the in and out movement he does, which is also visible in Cha 2x; Bruce indeed learned from Filipino martial arts masters, but yes he resembles the Chinese warriors more, I never claimed otherwise. But what I'm trying to point out here is about Filipino accomplishments not given due credit. When Lee fan boys say that Manny is copying Lees F.work, it disrespecting, 'coz we Filipinos have our own fighting style.

@banyohazard69 i don't doubt the credit that bruce learned from pinoy martial arts but this footwork tht i have seen is very similar to northern chinese swordsman techniques

one example would be Pacquiao; there are already people who say that Manny is copying Bruce Lees foot work but in fact it is Bruce who learned a couple of tricks from Pinoy FMA masters back then, Bruce Foot work I've heard is influenced by the Dance CHACHA which is really popular here in the Philippines back then, I've seen an Escrimador master from Cebu saying that Bruce paterned his foot work from CHACHA dance ( in a youtube video)

Sorry pare it's more than 9 years since I went back to Visayas hence I can only speak a little of waray na lang but I can still understand it whenever I hear someone talk bisaya. I'm already here in Manila though.
but Filipinos accomplishments always gets underappreciated or worse credit is given to other people instead of giving the credit where credit is due which is to the Filipino.

He smells like a killer to Mr. Denny.
Those who really got 'time' with Sonny were allowed special passage into his world. His students are now the eskrimadors' legacy. I wish I met him personally.

@banyohazard69 What people don't understand is that both fighting and dancing are about effortless, fluid movement. Both require timing, balance and body mechanic sensativity. You flow with your partner from one sequence to another. Some of the best masters out there were also accomplished dancers.
