@crosscountry322 Just because something matches doesn't mean it is the same thing. Also, this song was invented before the plague. Besides, why would anyone invent a song for children about a distructive time in history?
@pokemonkiller20 ring around the rosie-sign of infection pocket full of posies-herbs to ward of infection ashes ashes-the cremation of the dead we all fall down-we all die
@gwp19 That's the modern urban myth originating in the 50s. Folklore scholars discount that myth since the explanation only appears in 50s, the symptoms don't particularly match the Plague, the older versions of the song match less well with the plague while modern versions match more closely, and the 'fall down' was originally not a literal falling down, but a curtsy or other bending movement common in dramatic singing games.
Love how people think it's cute but when u listen to the words it's about the black death that killed 1/3 of Europe long time ago pockets full of posies was to hide the smell of the horrible stench that was wat came with the black death we all fall down then UR dead I am never letting my kid sing this....
not to be rude but ring around the rosy is based on the plague in Europe that kill 25 million of the population. consider that next time you video tape it

@xpiZZaz no its not based on any plague whats so ever. It was made by children before the plague started and its lyrics happened to match the plague.
