@Silveracity I think you mean “competition”. “Profit”, by definition, is the antithesis of putting resources into patient care. How can 18% costs be better than 3% costs? Walter Reed (military) is good enough to treat U.S. Presidents. Are Republicans against for Congress' healthcare plan?
Do soldiers legislate while fighting a war? Why is this call to inject business into healthcare so popular? Because corporations know that lobbying public opinion is just as important as lobbying Congress.

If you have every gone to a hospital, chances are, that hospital was run by a corporation. Something like Hospital Corporation of America runs. Profit is the motivation for running health care well. But if you don't care what health care costs, you have endless amounts of money or you are making someone else pay your bills.

@Silveracity A "Company to provide healthcare"? Do you mean Doctors, Nurses, medical equipment and medicine? Because if you don't mean that then I don't know of ANY insurance company that has given me Medical Care. In fact, denying healthcare OR making coding for healthcare billing so complex that patients or doctors may never get reimbursed is VERY profitable: 18% and higher overhead.
Compare this to Medicare and the V.A. - both popular but only 3% overhead.
Profit is NOT better for patient

I do think the spirit of the Opt-out option is good, but it is unlikely to be attractive to most Red states. If all states are required to collect the increased taxes & fees for the national insurance pool it makes no sense to then opt-out. I'd be paying more for less benefits. No, I think the Dems could better ease my concerns by removing the abortion text, adding tort reform, allowing cross-state insurance sales. That said, my priority is ending the pre-existing condition exclusions.

actually the surveyUSA is from August. and please link the poll saying 43% from surveyUSA
2 are from September and yet another two were from October so these are not old polls.
only one is from June (NYtimes) and that is the earliest
So in terms of facts here's how it goes, I present 6 polls from the last 2 months that the American people want the public option and you claim 1 poll contradicts this? Please...

No corporation runs my life or yours. You make choices and those choices have consequences. Nothing about this bill is going to make your life better. Nothing is this bill will make healthcare cheaper. It will not lower rates but raise them.

u mean like the republicans just want the corporations to run everyone's life for them

I think the word they chose was "teabagging". I think no one is disagreeing consevatives love sucking insurance's balls. Just remember the first tea party was about taxes, not health care. Nice for taking history out of context. Homo-phobs.

You must understand that the Democrats want to run everyone's life for them.

You must, first of all, understand that the Republicans are whores for the Insurance Companies.
