Got banned having run once in Leicester Square Odeon, then ran across Breakfast TV for a week before being picked up by independent cinemas. Originally a print ad in the Reader's Digest (the space a hen gets is the same as two tiny pages in the RD) but they too threw it out as "meat too strong for our readers." Chicken in end clip laid an egg for us.

Robin's first foray into mission driven work - change the world stuff - back in 1988. Great to know good ideas stand the test of time. We think we'll be seeing a lot more of this ad for Compassion in World Farming. The words 'welcome to the battery' still send a shiver down spines

Harrowing, I have only bought free range eggs and chickens since seeing this film 20 years. Powerful stuff CIWF!!!!
