What is the best brand scale for weighing gold and silver? Does anyone want to purchase this cool antique sterling cigar case before I take it to the refiner?
Greggh, your calculation forgot that you are probably paying at least a 10% premium to the refiner for silver melt. This would bring your net down to $144.25.
Greg's right about this scale (20 or so on ebay) only prob is the mode indication is microscopic..the gram,oz,etc is very hard to read, but it is an excellent scale.
I calculate an actual silver weight of 4.259 ozt (143.2 / 31.1 x 0.925 =4.259). At current spot of $37.63 you get a melt value of $160.27. So $150 with free shipping is a good deal. Too bad I'm not in the market of a sterling cigar holder.
wow that thing is worth over $100 thats crazy. melt away the next one might be worth double when there isnt any examples left. I wonder what one of the antique dealers might pay for that?
Can you please go over or please send me a message on the type of scales the state would require? If you can respond I'd appreciate it

@Edgarasmith True. But I meant it's a good deal for someone who just wants a nice sterling item. You're certainly getting your silver's worth.
