we were off shore hauling lobster traps when we saw something on the horizon. It was the high speed Ferry "THE CAT". What a sight it is in the open ocean.
They should put 'er to work on Lake Michigan doing the Chicago to Milwaukee route. (Unless it's draft is too deep.) Less problem finding people to fill it up, and at 40kts - you could do a dozen trips in a day. (Somewhere around $40 a seat round trip, nearly full seating every trip... Sunday & Monday down for maintenance. The math might work out.)
These cats are ugly.

This ship has been sold to China. My husban's cousin is the captain and he will be sailing her there. Not sure when. Maybe she's already gone.

Really Miss the CAT Ferry!!
Now She Sits in Frenchmans Bay near Bar Harbor, Maine USA doing nothing but collecting barnacles!
Too bad the cards weren't played right, she'd be making her runs to Yarmouth, NS and Portland, Maine.

The trip on the CAT was the most boring thing I've ever done.

I went on it in 99 (Maybe 2000). I was just a little kid and I enjoyed every minute of it. I was only 6 and I knew what a catmaran was.
