Hell's Gate Oakwood Cemetary Spartanburg Daytime Drive Thru

This is a daytime drive thru of Oakwood Cemetary a.k.a. "Hell's Gate" ! It is a beautiful place in the daytime and is a very large cemetary which dates back to early 1800's ! At night it has proven to many to be a strange place and extremely dark due to the fact there are NO streetlights throughout the cemetary!!!

Stumbled upon this cemetery today while just driving around Spartanburg, and being interested in old graveyards, I stopped and looked around. This place has been on my mind literally all day long. I love being here, it's so peaceful, yet eerie. I was immediately drawn to Potter's Field before I knew what it was, and found it was very peaceful there. I will definately be spending more time here, it is so beautiful.

It is a very large and beautifully tranquil place in the daytime and you can take some very artistic photos there! Lot's of history and nice rolling hill appearance! We went there during a haunted tour thing and we gotta picture of an orb and kids spoke to us! It was scary!

I went there a few years back in the area 3:30 in the day time 2 children spoke to us we followed where the voice came from down as far as we could and nobody was there we left and came back that night and went back to that same spot this was in the summer time so it was pretty warm out there was one grave that once you near it the temp dropped after walking around a few more minutes a mans voice yelled what are you doing get out of here from the woods

idk if most ppl know this or not but i have been told that the reason why its called hells gates is because if your lucky at night you can see a door thats red with a door knob out in the middle of no where but there is also some crazie stuff that has actually been seen like the girl with a broken neck that was killed by her parents not for

My group has done a few investigations at oakwood. I too was imediately drawn to potter's field. jusst now found out that its called that. We have found a few EVP's. some orb type pics( if you believe in orbs). And quite a few personal experiences during these investigations. We love this place. The thing is that be day or night we haave caught things. My group is called S.P.U.R.S. I am working on our website.
