@chomoma243 the only reason mount everest is so called the biggest is because it has a higher altitude ABOVE sea level. Mauna Kea is still bigger in size, it just has 5,800 feet below sea level of the total approx 14,000 feet

@chomoma243 Actually when measured from its base, which is on the ocean floor to its summit, its over 30,000 feet tall. So yes, it is the largest mountain in the world.
