This black and white monolith represents a breakthough project that was the first to receive the name of "ZeroG". This sculptural assembly is a result of exploring the auto-build function found in a commercial virtual tool called a Multi-Gadget. Ironically this tool also allowed the avatar to far exceed the default flight ceiling of 768 meters. So the practice of manipulating groups of solids en masse and staging them at the highest altitude possible was started pretty much at this moment in June of 2006.
It also became clear that photographing arrangements of abstract objects could yield a wealth of secondary photographic compositions and projects based on the original sculpture. The most well known spin off from the ZeroG project is the magic word painting ZeroG Fugue, that enabled the owner of the painting to say one of three magic words to reveal nearly 1000 variations, or what might be called a fugue on the ZeroG theme captured in stills.. Also arising from the ZeroG epiphany are three different physical series of traditional print runs including blind embossed intaligo, on high quality rag, duatone serigraphy on fine colored papers and transparent layered inkjet lightboxes with very low energy use and archival quality.
