While Mr. Keith continued to call role, I stared at Daniel. This couldn't be him. But I had to make sure.
He met my gaze as tears began to form. I blinked to clear them away and wispered, "Danny?"
He nodded.
"I've missed you so much." I wispered, touching his arm.
I couldn't believe this was him. My Danny. My only best friend. My little
"J. J. incorperated" buddy. When we were little we made up our own "bussiness" and called it Jonas and Jones inc. I'd missed him so much.
Tears were streaming down my cheeks uncontrolably now.
This was my Danny. But it couldn't be. He'd changed a lot in four years. Glasses for one thing, and he just looked older. My Danny was sort of a dork, but I loved him all the same.
I'm sure that I had changed a little too. I had grown out my bangs and my "cheek length" hair was now an inch below my shoulder. I had also gotten braces. (My brothers never had to so I was pretty mad at the braces thing).
I still hadn't changed as much as Danny. I barely recognized him.
"Stop crying." he whispered. "Its ok. We'll talk later. You should probably be paying attention." He pointed to the board where the teacher was writing notes about "box plots". An eighth grade skill, typical for this class.
I wiped my tears and hugged him quickly and awkwardly.
"I really have missed you." I murmered, pulling out a blank sheet of notebook paper.
"Same here." he whispered back.
Ha-ha,funny.
