Apple has a recall on 1st generation Ipod Nanos

This is a video of me opening my Recalled 1st generation ipod nano replacement ipod.
Shipped by Fed Ex. I did have to sign off on it to receive it from Fed Ex. Pretty sweet replacement if you ask me.
Apple recalled 1st generation Ipod nanos due to a battery issue.
Visit apple's website for the recall service.

The process I went through-
I had to notify apple about my ipod to assure that I could use the recall service. Once the ipod was accepted for this service, Apple told me they would send me a box to return the recalled ipod. That was at the end of November 2011. It took about 2 weeks for them to send me a box so I could send my ipod to Apple, They supplied me with a shipping label and directions on what to do. After sending my ipod to Apple mid December, I received the 6th generation ipod on January 9th 2012. The whole process took about a month and 2 weeks..

  • Awesome!

  • @Syrupton Worth the wait

  • How long did it take you to get your 6th gen in the mail? Once you sent the 1st gen to them

  • @bkfreshkickz Well first. I had to notify apple about my ipod to assure that I can use the recall service. Once the ipod was accepted for this service. That was at the end of November 2011. It took about 2 weeks for them to send me a box so I could send my ipod to Apple, They supplied me with a shipping label and directions on what to do. After sending my ipod to Apple mid December, I received the 6th generation ipod on January 9th. The whole process took about a month and 2 weeks I'd say.

  • @sirsaulsanch Really? I recieved a padded envolope 6 days after requesting service, then 2 days later Apple recieved it, and now they have already shipped the replacement. About 2 weeks at the most.

  • @jake14001 This was back when Apple first started accepting the replacement service. I'm sure the process may be quicker now, then when they introduced it back in November.

  • Yes! If you've got your iPod broked, burnt or not working you can find Apple for the replacement. Cables, headphones or the bill are not required. ONLY YOUR iPOD NANO 1G and your ID. I changed my old iPod nano 1G here in Rio de Janeiro and now I've got a new one brand new, 6G.

  • Have you done a review? If not, could you possibly do a really long one showing everything on the iPod including the Fitness app?? Thanks.

  • just applied for it
