Lol, I've liked Thrice since their release of "The Illusion of Safety" ever since then they've got me hooked.
What I love about Thrice is their diversity. They can change genres so fast. They can be in your face kickin' it heavy or soft and subtle like many songs on The Alchemy Index [water].
Also, Kensrue's lyrics are just too amazing and somehow intricate and simple at the same time. They are simply put but hold a deep meaning, and something like that takes true talent to express.

People get so uptight about how long they've been listening to a band, who the fuck cares? Just enjoy it while they're still here.

Thrice's worst song. I fucking love everything they've done but this song is so corny. Come on some one has to agree with me

BTW for those of you who like Thrice's songwriting, Dustin Kensrue (singer/guitar) is an AMAZING solo artist. The music is kind of a cross between Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, but he's an amazing lyricist- themes are very similar.

thrice doesn't sound the same on any of their albums. Theyre one of the few bands I can think of who actually concerns themselves with genuinely evolving their music, not changing their style in search of commercial success. I mean, they QUIT a major record after two albums label because Atlantic didn't like their creative direction, and since then they've recorded their own albums. Talk about artistic integrity. They're the best band out their that wasn't started a long time ago.

handclaps FTW!

How the hell does THRICE sound evolve and not get worse or piss us off, every album represnts a new stage of song writing and I love it

Thrice is one of those bands that you either love 'em or you hate 'em. I am one of the lucky ones that have been a fan since '01. Everything they do is awesome. When some bands try to explore new sounds and don't succeed, they should all try Thrice's plan.

Haha i completely agree i actually enjoy water and earth much more than fire and water.

I think Thrice is the only post-hardcore band I've ever heard that has used a banjo in at least one of their songs.

that song just need to grow on you.

I used to like Thrice a lot, but they've changed their style. The new cd is very mellow and emo ish. I miss the Artist in the ambulance style thrice 8-/

Actually if you really take the time to listen to The Alchemy Index, you'll see that Thrice is way far from being an emo band and doing emo-ish songs.
They're are evolving, becoming more mature and doing more magnificient songs. If you can't see that these songs are real gems well I'm sorry for you.
I LOVE The Artist in the Ambulance, Illusion of Safety a lot too, by the way.
But I'm also so thrilled to see that they're getting better with years.
