Parents of both Kings International School and Tomlinscote come together to highlight the distance and danger for some children if they are forced to walk between both schools to receive their Secondary School education that currently is provided from just one site.
Parents of both schools remain very unhappy about the proposal and the lack of contact the Governors are willing to have with both C.A.M. or individual parents.

  • erm... i'm sorry but i have to go to school with that amount of weight anyway.. there will be no difference is kings join. also i know tonnes of friends who walk over to kings way everyday that go to tomlinscote. how d you think all of the kings students are feeling about this.. you all need to grow up and realise that at the ed of the day, they are just kids like myself and my friends.. it is up to us to put the effort in at school... A Year9 Student at Tomlinscote-i will be effected the most.

  • @GeoWesDav14Xx lol no, just no. Kids walking that far along roads is dangerous. Putting lower ability (kings, on average) students in with higher ability students will ddrag the higher ability students down educationally and there's no doubt there'll be far worse traffic flow problems.

  • @wazark

Thanks for your words of support

    Thanks for your comments.

I am aware that most students have heavy bags. My point is you are going to a school that was agreed before you started. There are children at both schools who will be forced to attend the other school. Keeping both schools open and offering good quality oportunities is possible and will give all shorter walks to school for all.

  • Georgia I think you need to rethink that these parents need to grow up. They are older than you, they are lawyers, Councillers, community members. We do not want Kings to close. We are actively looking at turning Kings into an Academy. Which has worked for numerous schools across the country and if our MP Michael Gove promotes them. Then we should do it! We are nothing against Kings people. There are nothing wrong with them. Have a look at the website and understand what we are against.

  • @GeoWesDav14Xx Well. I live quite far away from Kings. I don't want to have to trapse an extra mile to come back the two miles I have to already walk. I have parents who work shifts at the Airport. I'll have to cook for my brother most days of the week and do my coursework along with other things I do on Various nights. There is no difference if Kings join no. We are actually not against Kings with us. The council just doesn't appriciate the traffic that we'll have to put up with

  • Very good. I'm proud of you all for standing up for our education.

    Sincerley

A Year 9 Student at Tomlinscote
