  • Been clear for days, waking in the morning haze, writing, creating...another new phase....Demons run and minstrels cry, pick up the stick and watch it fly...away.

  • I'm not criticizing people who smoke weed, do whatever you want, but I have to thank Tom Waits for something he did. I was going through this stage where I thought drugs were so cool and I wanted to do it, but then I found this song. The one line where he says, "Just like marijuana leads to heroin." They made me snap out of it so quickly, a heavy hit of realization, and I thank him for that. Come to find out, my cousin started smoking weed this summer, and now he is addicted, trying new drugs.

  • Love this old school Junkie music!

Time to stop chippying around and kidding myself,

    I'm hooked, heavy as lead.

See you at the crossroads George.

  • He is real - live his own life and create something long lasting things. I feel I need to do something in my life, as he does - else Im just a sheep who only working to feed bloody bankers and useless politicans.

  • @DackIsBack

Wow... I've also never noticed it before...

  • Is this on 'Black Rider' ??? Who did i give my copy of Black Rider to??? Doh!!

  • I thought this was just an old 1970s trucker sound. Like in Convoy and outside of it. My dad has a bunch of tapes of trucker songs and all the guys talk through 'em like this. There are several oldies that have guys with deep voices like the song "Big John".

OH & I love when he starts singing all operatic like the keyboard lady. So cool lol
