NOTE: This hack works for Windows 95, 98, and Me as well. For every version, the bytes to hack are at different offsets, but the function is the same. I do not recommend hacking Windows, as I love it as it is!
Hi all Windows fans out there! Today we will remove the BSOD, and that is for good!
If you didn't know already, 16 bit Windows is built so that one single program can be system modal, forcing a response from the user.
We will hack 4 bytes total in two different Windows modules, to skip those system modal procedures FOR GOOD!
We are going to stop that by hacking 2 bytes!
You have seen a demonstration of the BSOD, but now you will also see the SysErrorBox, which is pretty much the older version of the BSOD. It is system modal, as you can not select anything other than the 3 buttons available to you!
I will hack the SysErrorBox away for good. Then it is just the BSOD left to be hacked away.
REMEMBER: I am not hacking the programs calling these system modal procedures, but the real thing so that all programs will be safe!
