The 141 Farewell ran from Dublin to Sligo on 6th March 2010. Unfortunately, Irish Rail pulled the plug on the 141s the previous day but supplied 071 class 078 for the tour. Here the locomotive propels the train out of Sligo station prior to running round.
I can understand that usual and not uncommon let down by IR for us here in the NorthWest. But it just so happened I was in a house in Sligo which borders the line. When I saw the 078 roar up the line and shaking the ground below my feet from the station with the rail tour attached, it brought back some great memories. Thanks so much for the posting. Thumbs up
