He's a workaholic. I guess for him "some time off" means some time off from a certain project thats been running for a while (DT), not time off to chill at home or whatever. I guess the marriage metaphor thats used widely in this context pretty much nails it. I dont think its because he was like harrassed by one of the other DT members 'cause he was the "boss" (more likely the other way round...JLB anyone?). So basically I think the explanation some time off is valid

I think most of the time he does although DT will be stuck in his head forever, of course

Well, I hope he enjoys his "time off" cause he's not coming back to DT in a lot of albums, even if he wants to.

the real reason is that he tought at the time he left that he is a full time band member in Avangened sevenfold. but they kicked him out after he left DT. sure that he would try to get back in DT. but it was too late. and that pissed him off a very lot.now he is working in diffrent band and projekts too keep the moneyflow. until one day he can go back to DT for the big Reunion. i´m pretty sure that they all talked about it. i think mangini will be some time in DT. at least 4 or 5 albums plus.

The one thing i don't understand is when MP discusses why he left DT he says it was mainly because he needed a break, and was tired of the write/record/tour cycle. As I see it thats exactly what he's been doing after he left. So far joined TWO band, released TWO albums, collaborated on SEVERAL more. Now he's going out on a months tour with AMOB, touring with FC after that, and then touring with PSMS after that again. What's the REAL reason he left DT? Any imput?
