This is the first in a series of portraits of people in Los Angeles, the City of Angels,by L.A.-based- photographer-songwriter-author Paul Zollo, all of which will be included in his upcoming book "Angeleno."
Portraits included in this video are those of some famous Angelenos, as well as some that are aspiring to be famous, some that don't like famous people, aspirants, lunatics, saints, clowns, the homeless and the humble, the privileged and brilliant, the angels of the angel city, including Leonard Cohen, Farley Granger, Billy Beck (a legendary clown from the Cirque Medrano in Paris - this was the first time in 40 years he donned his clown outfit), Jerry Maren (one of the Lollipop Guild munchkins in "The Wizard of Oz,"), and J.P. Manoux ("E.R.," "Phil of the Future," "Reno 911,") The Legendary Count Smokula, La Cholita, Elizabeth from the Hollywood Pin-Up Girls, Eliza Bane (burlesque star), Claudia Rose (singer-songwriter-dancer), Amy O'Neill (performance artist), Marketa Janska (singer-model-actress), Jonah Sparks (the celebrated beamish boy), Paul the volunteer doorman at the 7-11 at Oxnard & Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Noho, Rick the bouncer at the Roxy, and more.
Interesting and fun photos. Where did you get the photos of the older clown men? and the funky big lipped clowns? Thanks for sharing. *<{;0)
