On August 17, AAUW hosted a debate to discuss the conflicting views of feminists regarding the global phenomenon of SlutWalks — rallies that attempt to bring attention to the victim blaming that so often happens when women report sexual assault. Although everyone involved in these discussions wants to end sexual assault and focus blame on the perpetrators rather than the victims, activists vociferously disagree on whether SlutWalks are the best way to do this work.
If you weren't able to join us for this thought-provoking event at AAUW's headquarters in Washington, D.C., now you can do the next best thing — watch footage from the debate, pass it along to your friends and family, and start your own discussion (or join ours by leaving a comment).

The patriarchy wins again. Now we have women marching for their rights to dress like whores and to spread their legs for all kinds of guys. We don't have to do anything but learn some game and take our pick. No rings, no altars, no commitment, and thousands of fresh young sluts ready to bob our knobs turning 18 every single day. Thank you, feminism. You made our job easy! Sincerely, the evil white male patriarchy of doom.

@milton224
You should also be aware that rape is not perpetuated with anything like the frequency demonstrated by the hysterical studies which act as a cornerstone for feminist arguments against patriarchy. The oft repeated "1 in 4" statistic, founded by Mary Koss for Ms. Magazine, is a gross misrepresentation of the truth. Read her methodology and you will see how facts about rape have been twisted into poltical currency to boost funding for fake causes like this stupid SlutWalk.

@Sambucca Insufficient evidence doesn't mean there was a false accusation, but I sense from the tone of your response this is an emotional topic for you, and won't pursue this.
@UltraProle Oh, I thought you knew and were posing it in response to your first paragraph.

@milton224
Approximately 40% of rape claims in America are proven to be false. There is either insufficient evidence for a conviction or the claimant retracts her statement. In those incidences she will usually be let away with a minimal sentence of community service (Duke Lacrosse accuser), after the man has had his name tarnished forever and spent time in jail.

@milton224 i don't know, nor did i claim to know. but it obviously happens, e.g. the duke lacrosse liar. i was just asking how many false accusers actually see jail time.
