Going to Rockefeller Plaza? Xmas tree is there, as are the skating rink and 30 Rock. Rock PLAZA is within Rock CENTER. From Times Square walking north (against traffic), turn right at either 49th or 50th Streets. Walk one very long block to Sixth Avenue, where you'll see three full blocks of gray stone buildings. Rock Center takes up three blocks between 48th and 51st. Continue straight, now uphill, past Sixth, toward Fifth. Rockefeller Plaza will be the large open space, with flags marking the center block.
www.oconnorgreentoursnyc.com takes you on tour by bike, pedicab (rickshaw) and/or charter bus.
Today Stan stops at Rockefeller Plaza, giving the story of the beautiful golden Prometheus statue which overlooks the Skating Rink. The camera circles, showing noteworthy features such as Saks & Company, 30 Rock, the plaque showing the annual location of the Christmas Tree, and the studios of NBC and the NBC Today show.
Stan is a licensed sightseeing guide for hire with his pedicab, as well as for bus tours.
