The SCEA - a state affiliate of the powerful NEA teacher's union - held a press conference at the SC Capital to demand more money from taxpayers. During the conference, an SCEA representative acknowledged that "four out of ten" students graduate, that test scores are low, and that national rankings are bottom of the barrel. What the SCEA does not admit, is that SC public schools receive massive funding, and that academic achievement has been lagging for years before any cuts to the state budget.
That's the biggest load of crap imaginable. NO, the schools do NOT receive anything CLOSE to "massive funding", they're badly UNDERfunded.
