  • The BM is certainly NOT the same as the basal lamina. The lamina is merely a component of the basement membrane.

  • @amrx2011 Thank you for the comment. Please see the postings between karlkarlkarl234 and myself on this topic.

  • The basal lamina is NOT the basal membrane.

  • @karlkarlkarl1234 @mrfordsclass (pt3) For purpose of general A&P course, basal lamina and basement membrane can be considered same thing, Walter Reed Army Institute Research jcb.rupress(dot)org/content/35/1/273.full(dot)pdf Thank you for raising that point. It is sometimes confusing when students go from gen sci course to more in-depth classes in professional schools. It gets even more confusing when going into clinical when you learn just how much art there is to medicine.

  • @karlkarlkarl1234

    Yeah that' fair enough.

Sorry about double post, this new YouTube outlay is horrible.

  • @karlkarlkarl1234 No kidding! :)

  • this is interesting and very educational

  • I'm in PA school and find your lectures very helpful when studying for exams. Thanks for making them public.

  • Excellent lesson! Tks alot. Maybe if you could put up some illustration it would be da BEST EVER. Still an excellent video, tks.

  • @mrfordsclass Thanks for the info! I felt the need to post and pass on the message as I still remember a lecture in university years ago where the prof was very adamant about how we shouldn't interchange the two terms. Thought maybe it would help someone who is looking for a quick answer. And thanks about the video hah.

  • My name is Sonia and I am currently taking a entrance exam for a nursing program is 3 weeks. I haven't taken A&P but other courses such as General Biology, Women's Biology, Human Biology, and sports medicine which has been very helpful in reviewing the A&P material. A&P is not required to take the exam in which I plane to take in 3 weeks. Does your series on A&P cover all the basic material to take the HESI nursing entrance exam? If so, do you think 3wks is enough time to complete the series?

  • Very educational and interesting lessons, Mr. Frord!

You definitely like the subject you teach

  • thank uu

  • @mrfordsclass As you are only a Biology student karl where did you get your second hand information, which text book did you read it and copy it from?
