  • Just for the record, I am a lecturer in ancient history, and a former lecturer in Biblical Hebrew, Latin, and Aramaic, which is probably the hardest ancient language in the world to understand because it was primarily a spoken language. The problem most bible colleges have is they don't teach biblical Hebrew, the teach modern and ancient, which are very different languages.

  • @TheMarathonomahos Well you are very clever I give you that,I'm just an old time Bible preacher but I always like to read what scholars are saying who do not agree with me. I'm a good Bible teacher I'm happy to debate with you, what I did not like is the comment you made that folk should not listen to what I said, I found that very offensive and anti democratic-but I'm happy to debate with you.

  • @TheMarathonomahos I'm having a cup of tea and a prayer time but if you want to throw some questions at me now I will get back to you ,if you want to talk to me in the afternoon I will be around,it is up to you. I do love contextual work so this should be good.

  • @TheMarathonomahos Now as I do this, what I want from the text is not my agenda,I also want to see what the context is. If I find you have an agenda I will be very strong with you scholar or no scholar, this is about truth and being honest not showing the person they are wrong- ok?

  • Dawkins books are not written with the goal to change people, he tries his best to expose the truth no matter how terrible it could be.

Atheist don’t follow writers like Dawkins, Harris and Hitchens as you would follow the bible, there are no atheist congregations, no common belief system, you might find some occasional meeting somewhere around the world but nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands of churches.

Your arguments are extremely naïve and weak.

  • excuse my spelling. It's very late.

  • @Zwemer100 I won't debate with you over theology, because theology by nature always has an agenda, or an angle that one takes. You have one as much as any Christian has one, hence the 37,000 denominations worldwide. I want to debate the subject of language, usage, and context, both in old, common, and contexual usage, and history.

  • @TheMarathonomahos I have read some of Karen Armstrong and I will watch her videos if you send me a link.I'm happy to debate with any person, but if you have an agenda then what is the point? It will be a fight and what is the point of that\?I do think the article I have given gives you lots of info on some of the things you have said. You seem not to have read the article,if you did you would see how wrong you are.
