The D2H VN from Collings is a beautiful square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnaught, the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. The wide range of woods and neck sizes offered allow dreadnought fans to find a Collings model ideally suited to their playing style and tonal preference. The D2H brings new tonal clarity, depth and warmth that is usually associated with these large body guitars. If you have any questions regarding this guitar or any others from Collings contact us here at Sound Pure. 919.682.5552 or 888.528.9703

  • Is there any processing? Reverb? compression? or just raw?

  • @Rocker8822 No fancy processing- hard pan left/right with the mics, no compression, no EQ, a tiny splash of Bricasti Reverb, but just enough to add a little space.... then, unfortunately, youtube compression!

Feel free to shoot us any questions about the gear or recording path to audio@soundpure(dot)com, or feel free to request the high resolution audio file (full res at 88.2k 24-bit so that you can listen in your studio)

We are glad to help any way that we can...

  • Best sounding acoustic on Youtube! :)

  • @RiverroadRecords Thanks for the comment. This amazing instrument is actually in stock, and available for sale. Please don't hesitate to shoot us any quesitons you have about the instrument, or recording gear we used in the chain. Glad to help support anything you are going, be it recording or instrument acquisition. Please don't hestiate to e-mail us anytime at acoustics@soundpure(dot)com

  • how does the vintage now feature differ from the other d2h's?

  • @ThisIsntLukeKim The "vintage now" specs are different string spacing and neck profile. It's a subtle difference for most, but some players prefer a little wider spacing and rounder neck like this one

  • @soundpurestudios ok thanks!..the song is amazing! ;)

  • @pocia13 Sorry, not sure about the name, Keith does a ton of improvisation on the spot, but it's Keith Ganz playing ! Hope that helps some...

  • what's the song that the man is playing??thanks ;) from italy!

  • @Onetruthrgv If you are serious about making a guitar upgrade with us, we can help you narrow the focus, and even send you sound clips of a particular instrument doing exactly what you'd like to hear to confirm it's what you are after. We continue to post as much diverse playing as we can, but obviously it is entirely impossible to please everyone- some people want jazz, others want classical (yes, on a steel string guitar), quite honestly the requests are essentially endless- doing our best!
