Verbal Apraxia and Keegan, part 1

Keegan (33 months) has been diagnosed with verbal apraxia and general dyspraxia. I wanted to capture some video of him "speaking" so I could document his progress as we begin some intensive therapy and supplement trials. Keeping him engaged is sometimes hard to do, as you will see by about half way through... :)

It was shortly after Keegan turned 15 months that his doctor suggested we have a screening with an early intervention program. By 17 months he was already beginning weekly speech therapy...

Almost in tears from this.... my son Alex has recently been associated with verbal apraxia, and this actually sounds like he's doing way better than my son is; he gets so frustrated if you try to get him to say anything(my son).

@xoxtweakxox i have verbal dyspraxia and find it challenging im at the age of 16 and finding it hard with friendship wise and im dreading the thought about dieing single because of my problem

He is very expressive vocally!! I think your son is a thinker deffinatley. My son took 6 months to say the word "more"when he was 4 yrs old, insted he would just say "ah ah ah".

I am the mom of a soon to be 7 yr old boy with Developmental Apraxia of Speech. Here's the irony... my son's name is Keegan too. Your video reminds me so much of how we started treatment with my Keegan. I'm ashamed to say I don't have hardly any video of him in the younger years, but might be able to drum up some in the last year and a half or so, now that we actually have a digital camera.

At what age did you suspect a speech problem with Keegan? My son is 16 months and I can't find any apraxia vids earlier than 27 months or so
