@mrceebees14 Yuuup, the good ole leafs, and they might not make as many bone-head signings, but they haven't made the playoffs in quite a few years. So it's not like their strategy has been working. They'll make it next year though, so maybe things are changing.

@britamarshall The only other would be the Leafs, but the Leafs don't make as many bone headed signings as the Rangers do. That still leaves 28 teams (for the most part) that don't have the luxury of pockets deeper than the grand canyon.
The Rangers found a way around the system, so nothing has changed.

Each team does have the same cap, but you are forgetting something huge. There is no limit to buying out player contracts. The Rangers lead the league in contract buy outs because of the ridiculous amount their top player/s get and wind up being one bust after another. One buy out following another and hardly any team can afford to do that on a regular basis.......but the Rangers can!

@mrceebees14 For the record, I'm not a fan of the Rangers AT ALL, but each team gets the same amount of money towards players, so I'm just saying, it doesn't really matter how much they are bringing in because they don't get to put it all towards players.

@britamarshall The players make up most of that salary cap chief. The fact still remains, the Rangers continue to try and buy a cup. Guys like Callahan and Dubinsky are nickel and dimed by the Rangers, yet, they throw shit tons of money at mercenaries like Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, Marian Gaborik, the list goes on and on with Richards being their new shiny toy.
The Rangers are the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and over and over again expecting a different result.
