@toxictwister00 I believe that's HiRAD just malfunctioning. Since Lansing is somewhat of an urbanized area, HiRAD is reporting rain on the radar due to the urban heat island effect. Obviously it was wrong.

Odd how in the last frame of the radar it shows a big blob of rain over Lansing like that. I guess it could have been a glitch. I've never seen that before when we have winter wx events here and there's a transition taking place.

It was a glitch. The snow was very wet, and temps were at or slightly above freezing- in addition to the large size of the snowflakes- which may have contributed to some false returns.
