@staslig Yeah, of cours it makes SOME noise, but not very much. Also I am talking with experience, because I'm glider pilot too. I made some low passes in a really noisy plane, the ASK-21, and even from cockpit it is not THAT noisy.
Well, I am a pilot and I can tell you it will make noise, if you dont understand how then I sugest you get back into Principles of Flight and read up on the Venturi Effect. The friction of the airflow accelerating over the profile will create some noise, im not talking about a secreaming swoooosh.. but there will be some noise and you can hear it from 10meters easy.
I hear it every day myself since we have sailplanes taking of and landing from my airport of operation every day.
@staslig That's not true. Why would ik make noise? Of course, there is a bit. But you don't have to hear that at 10 meters distance. And i know about it, I'm getting my GPL so i have done the theoratic part 'aerodynamics'... And I've flown that fast.
@saildapper2001: Hi there, it does not fly like a Rolls, it's more like Porsche but slow in the turns. And what's up with the no-music-thing? Our Nimbus is sealed like hell, it doesn't make any sound, not even at redline. The only thing you hear on the unedited video is the "Ooooh's" and "Ahhhh's" from the spectators. Personally I think my friend did a nice job with the music. For info: first pass was at redline 285km/h, second at 240, third at 190.
Thanks for the video (suggestion: don't cover up the beautiful soaring sounds with music). Impressive wing flex. Having never flown anything with that long a wing, it seems to have the flight characteristics one might equate with a Rolls Royce car, rather than a Porsche - both impressive, but in different ways. Is that the case?
Lolz, ASK 21 is when you fly fast as noisy as hell!

@KenFlyEvens
there is no way a construction like that makes no sound at 285km/h. Aerodynamics just dont work that way.
