  • Thank you for a clear insight on the ideal prerequisites of intimate knowledge of the physicality of sound and the soul of music (by playing an instrument) and the music's anatomy (by composing) in order to be a good conductor. Most enlightening, Maestro Barenboim! :)

  • Absolutely, I totally agree.

  • He talks brilliantly. I wish it had gone on for longer.

  • great concept.

  • HappyWandy457, this is superb musical thinking! The subtle links between this trilogy -Conductor-Interpreter and Composer were wonderfully described by Barenboim because he is king in all of them! Nevertheless, his hight is quite of a lonely place to share with fellow musicians: There is an obscure cloud of selfishness among music lovers, because of their criticism which doesnt allow their soul growth.

  • @TheClassicalFun Why is there an urge to explain someone who is so sharp and wise?!

  • How true!

  • Er hat total Recht.

  • I recommend his recent complete Brahms' Symphonies w. Chicago.

  • It's a really great concept about the music... Bravo!
