Hi,

I received a few request to post videos on making Uppercase letters. Those clips will be coming in the future but I first need to finish the lowercase letters. I decided to post a sampler of a few caps (A, O, J and Z).

I'd like to say something about 'requests'. As much as I would love to make videos to answer all your question I simply don't have the time to do requests. Believe it or not if you consider the setup time, recording the footage, editing, producing the finished clip and uploading it to the server two or more hours can pass even for a little two minute finished video clip.

Don't forget to visit both

and

for more information (all without cost). I also run the Yahoo Ornamental Penmanship at

Please sign up, it too is free.

  • You are very welcome. This particular form of script is not handwriting. I am actually drawing the letters. The script evolved when engrossers/calligraphers in the 19th century attempted to emulate the beautiful script of the metal engraver/ Hence the terms Engrosser's or Engraver's script was applied to the hand. My mentor, master penman Bill Lilly one said that Engrosser's script is the equivalent of 'engraving of paper'.

More to come so stay tuned and keep practicing!
