Fuel tank pump outlet re-connected to engine fuel filter. (Regulating pressure to about 2.5 bar).
No longer appears to draw air into the fuel supply (steady current & steady pump sound) even though the flow rate is probably slightly higher than in the previous test. (As the pump current is slightly lower, so the pressure must be lower and the flow rate higher).
Fuel level in tank as the same as before at just below half full.
See test 4 video for the same with engine running.

I now know why there was air in the pump outlet in Test 2. See my video "Xantia 2.0 HDi Fuel Tank Pump Tests with Pump removed from Tank - P0230 Fault Code"
