Yep, I enjoyed it very much. I'd like to know which brands had moving keys, honestly, I've never seen that to be the case, but if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I agree with you its the music that's what we all love about this stuff, but the keys make it fun (and a LOT easier to learn a roll performance). Meant the stuffy brit thing as a joke, sorry. If it's any consolation, I'm a typical American lazy rude redneck lol.
Cheers!

Some UK-built pianos DO have moving keys - usually the larger uprights and many of the grands. Even though I am a 'Stuffy' Brit (no sweeping generalizations there then!!) I personally don't regard moving keys as 'repulsive' (it is quite good fun to watch them) although it's the music produced that's of primary interest.
Hope you enjoyed it anyway - I'll be posting some more soon.

ROLL is arranged, rather than PLAYED, by the late John Farrell. GLAD you enjoyed it!
As for the tempo - a valid point although that is the beauty of the foot-pumped player piano. The roll provides the correct notes in the right order. The operator is free to interpret the music - varying the pedalling and using the levers to control the dynamics - and adjusting the tempo to suit their own taste.
I will be posting some more in the future - so please keep watching.

now my keys move, but the piano just toasted....:(

My Stroud had a weird issue. The piano and player were US made (New York), but the keys didnt move. The piano has a key lock which I thought was stuck, but it wasn't the problem... All I could get out of movement was a slight "jitter" on some of the keys. Bushings were fine, no swelling of the keys.. Solution? Had them professionally balanced and weighted so I could watch the performers in action lol :)
Stuffy Brits for thinking that moving keys were repulsive :)

Although composed by Pete Johnson it was (as I believe I answered a previous question) not actually 'recorded' strictly speaking , or 'played' at all! It was arranged by the late great John Farrell - who produced many rolls emulating the style of great jazz artistes.
