but they forgot the end- San Franciscoooooo!~ :)
-
This is one of the best jingles I've heard for a Bay Area radio station.
-
...add about 3 minutes and this would have been a hit single.
-
I heard a similar jingle for KHJ in LA in 1976 but I only based this from the airchexx site for KHJ when Charlie Van Dyke did the morning drive in LA and Bobby Ocean from KFRC and KOIT was there.

@rbvo It's DEFINITELY Karen and Richard!
-
The Carpenters singing over a TM jingle. Nice combo
-
Very cool, classy and dynamic. Karen's voice was truly unique, versatile and outstanding.
-
Even The Pointer Sister did a version of "Fire" that substitutes the line "You turn on KFRC" in place of "You turn on the radio".
-
Something of a departure for The Carpenters, isn't it?
-
@rbvo It's Karen. You have no idea what you're talking about. No one before her or since has that voice.
nice. i'll take thirty seconds of karen's voice over 10 seconds of the latest diva any day.

Simply not true! This is INDEED the Carpenters. In fact, Richard included it in the Carpenters documentary as a
bonus at the end of the DVD. Anyone who knows the Carpenters knows it's Karen. Nobody else sounds remotely like that. They did the commercial in 1978.
